Play and Prey
Standard Schnauzers are not low energy dogs. They are very playful and they also have a very high prey drive. Most of the time they are playing or looking for critters when they are not sleeping.
Schnauzer Play
They love to play rough. Chase each other around, beat each other up a bit. It's good fun and good exercise. Kodi is much bigger than Kylie, but he let's her rule the play and she makes all the noise.
Squirrel, squirrel, squirrel
Standard Schnauzers have a high prey drive. They are always looking for squirrels, rabbits, possums, and, yes, neighborhood stray cats. My SS have never never killed anything, but some certainly have brought their people gifts of squirrel victims. :)
